Loch Ness

We're back from six days in the Highlands (near Loch Ness) and feeling thoroughly exhausted. This was our first real trip into Northern Scotland (despite living here for uh...a while. we don't have a car ok?) and it certainly didn't disappoint. It was wonderful to walk through the epic hills and mountains surrounding the infamous Loch Ness and then to spend the evening ploughing through our holiday reading. We even managed an unscheduled swim in small Loch hidden away in between heather covered hills (its the one at the bottom of this post). Here are some photos from our trip, its far easier to post them than scrape the barrel of my vocabulary trying to describe how beautiful it was!

Absolutely breathtaking! I loved my trip through Loch Ness 2 years back. The heather is so lovely. I'm glad you had such a fun trip!

My sister went to Loch Ness last year & after looking at her pictures (and yours) I've been dying to go ever since.

the highlands are too amazing. is that where you stayed? i'm hoping that we can get a car before the end of the year so we can get some weekend exploring in, makes having to work the rest of the week much more bearable.

The scenery is just gorgeous! One of my biggest regrets was not having gone up by Loch Ness when I was visiting as it is all sorts of gorgeous. Glad you had a good time though. :)
