Bye bye Studio

We had to move all our stuff out of the studio today so that the degree show structure could be put up. Its sort of sad that we won't all be working on one place anymore. Sigh. Above are some 'illustration studio best bits'.
Moving out of the studio also means its also officially two weeks until we are done! We start hanging our shows in a week and half and by friday it'll all be over. After that I'll be working on some new stuff for the degree show shop and tweaking my exhibition a bit before it opens to the world on June 12th. Eek! I'm pretty excited, it's going to be ace to see everyones work up and finished! In the meantime I have to start framing. Urgh.

i was so sad to leave our studio. it took a good few trolley trips & a can of energy drink.
hooray, degree show shop! it's the best thing ever to have one! i look forward to yours.

a trolley? genius. I had a rather wobbley wheelie suitcase to try and drag my stuff home with. It was possibly an error to just keep leaving stuff there for eight months.

what kind of stuff did you have in your shop? I need to commit to making a couple of things well rather than doing a shoddy job on all the various things i want to do.

fortunatly someone had a trolley for their show piece. i couldn't believe the amount of stuff i'd gathered.

we had a range of things, most people had prints for sale. i had small original framed pieces, a couple of books, my tea monsters, some unframed drawings, & badges. my badge sets sold out! i think i'd recommend some small gocco prints too perhaps, people who don't want to spend a lot like the option of less expensive things.

also, there were a selection of A6-ish limited edition screen-prints that had been done by selected 2nd & 3rd years, & tutors, that were (i think) £10 each or £15 framed. the money from those went towards our d&ad trip. it was a good way of gathering some money for the trip, & it was nice to have work that wasn't connected directly to the show content.

okay, long comment over.

I like how Kirsten looks like she's collapsed against the pillar in one of those pictures
